- The competition is a production of the Haifa Music Center. The purpose of the competition is to contribute to the growth and excellence of contemporary music.
- The Competition is open to all composers all ages and nationalities.

The winning composition may be part of the "Flute Competition" 2008 repertoire.

- The required composition is a work for Flute Solo, and String Orchestra. (Strings: 4-4-3-3-1) The Orchestra part may include Concertante passages.
and additional Harp or percussion parts.
Duration of performance: Minimum -10 minutes, maximum - 15 minutes .
The duration must be indicated on the score..
- The composition must be unpublished, never have been performed in public nor have been Awarded a prize under its present or other title.
- The prize monies will be awarded by December 15th 2007 by direct money transfer.
- The Jury is entitled to divide the prize or not award it at all.
- Participants will receive no other fee or other compensation for television, radio or video recordings and broadcasts of the competition, nor for the international circulation of these materials.
- Registration: Each composer may present only one composition. Applications must contain:
- Five copies of the composition in a 1. Five separate, sealed, envelopes.
and one set of all solo and orchestra parts. Each score must be printed and marked with a Title and a five-digit code. Both should appear on the outside of the sealed envelopes. Please note: Handwritten composition will not be accepted!
- The composer of the winning composition will supply the piano reduction of the Orchestra part no later than 30/11/2007.
- Completed application form, attached here, and $50 , non refundable, registration fees.
Envelopes that do not contain all the documents specified above, will be disqualified.
- The completed application form and scores should be sent by registered mail to :

postmarked not later than September 15th 2007.
- Compositions will be examined by an international jury. The line up of the jury will be published in the near future.
- The Jury's decision will be made public on October 30th 2007. The decision of the Jury is final.
- Copying of the orchestral parts is the sole responsibility of the composer, who must be in the position to provide the Haifa Music Center with complete orchestral material by November 30th 2007 at the latest.(See No.9) .
- Up to December 25th 2007 , the compositions which have not been awarded, may be retrieved from the Haifa Music Center office. After that date scores can no longer be conserved.
- The winning composition will be given its world premier by the Israel String Ensemble. Therefore the composer formally agrees to thus reserve the premiere and to hand over the score and parts on time.
- The winning composer formally agrees to include the statement: "First Prize Award, Haifa Music Center International Competition for Composition, 2007" in any further publications, performances, recordings, etc. of the award wining composition
- The Prize-monies are subject to Israel income tax legislation.
- The management reserves the right to change.
- If the competition or part thereof cannot take place owing to causes beyond control, all the enrollments will be cancelled. This decision cannot be appealed against.
- By taking part in the competition, the participants entirely accept the present rules and regulation as well as the decisions made by the Jury.
